Overheard at the Howling Hog
All through the harvest fair, something kept pinging the reeve on the neck with seeds, one every time he raised the tithe. The cooper's boy saw a little cap poking out of the turnip cart and a long tube aimed over the side. The reeve's paying two silver for the shooter. The seed in his collar has sprouted.
Use it as
- A mushroom-folk ranger PC who never needs to get close
- A hidden sharpshooter guarding the mushroom folk's woods
- A local troublemaker the town hires the party to catch, who turns out to have a point
DM tip
Keep it off the table until someone spots it. Let the players find it by working out which way the shots came from.
