Overheard at the Howling Hog
A rose bush at the manor is missing its two biggest thorns, and the gardener knows exactly who took them. Little thing, she says, under a cap as wide as a cartwheel, and now it carries those thorns as daggers. She'd like them back soon. The bush has started growing new ones that point at the road.
Use it as
- A mushroom-folk rogue PC who fights with a thorn in each hand
- A garden thief the manor hires the party to track down
- A bandit scout that strikes from under the bracken
DM tip
Thorn wounds sting. Whenever it hits, the target takes 1 more damage at the start of their next turn unless they spend an action pulling the barb out.
