Overheard at the Howling Hog
Four axes bent, two saws gone and the foreman knocked flat at the woodcutters' camp, all by something knee-high carrying a log. The log came off the oak they felled. Witnesses mention a cap that branches like antlers. The foreman's paying for a name, though he'd rather not meet whoever it belongs to.
Use it as
- A mushroom-folk druid PC who settles arguments with a log
- A grove guardian the party has to answer to before cutting anything
- The forest's enforcer, ambushing logging camps at dusk
DM tip
Keep a tally of every tree the party cuts down. At three, it turns up at their camp with the club, and it already knows the count.
