Finish your base

A pinch of static grass and a spare base or two, and it'll look table-ready.

What's in the box
  • One lead-free pewter figure, unpainted and unassembled
  • A 20mm slotted plastic base

The painted photos are for inspiration. Yours shows up bare, and the paint job's all yours.
Assembly tips
  • File or scrape off any flash, the thin bits left over from casting.
  • If the tab sits loose in the base slot, bend it into a shallow V so it wedges in, then add a drop of superglue.
  • Fill any gaps with putty or basing sand before you prime.

Overheard at the Howling Hog

Foggy nights, a fox the size of a sheepdog trots along the churchyard wall, mouth open like it's calling someone. Wherever it stops, a lost thing turns up on the doorstep by morning. Last night it left a locket on the weaver's step. Inside is her portrait as a child. She never sat for one.

Use it as

  • A druid or ranger's companion that's bigger than any fox ought to be
  • A fox spirit that leads the party to something someone lost
  • A shapechanger's other shape, for when you'd rather it bit

DM tip

Hand the players a found object each time the fox turns up. Make the third one belong to a party member who never noticed it was gone.
