Overheard at the Howling Hog

Foggy nights, a fox the size of a sheepdog trots along the churchyard wall, mouth open like it's calling someone. Wherever it stops, a lost thing turns up on the doorstep by morning. Last night it left a locket on the weaver's step. Inside is her portrait as a child. She never sat for one.

DM tip

Hand the players a found object each time the fox turns up. Make the third one belong to a party member who never noticed it was gone.
