Overheard at the Howling Hog

Stuck in our chimney this morning: one arrow the length of a fence post. The shepherds say it came from the hill troll on the ridge, drawing a warbow like two scythes bolted together. That's most of a mile. Whoever climbs up to return the arrow can ask what the troll was aiming at.

DM tip

Start the troll off the map entirely and let the arrows land first. The party has to cross open ground under fire before they can even see the shooter.
