Overheard at the Howling Hog

The book stays shut whenever the sword's lit. That's his rule now, ever since he read a spell off that big tome with his flaming blade over his shoulder and a page caught. The curtains went next. The page that burned was the one about putting fires out.

DM tip

Whenever he casts from the book in melee, roll a d6. On a 1 the page catches and the spell fizzles, but his next swing deals fire damage.
