Overheard at the Howling Hog

The smith's little anvil has been stolen four times, and four times it's turned up on the same stump behind the stable, set square on its block like it walked there. Somebody's been using it at night. This morning there was a fresh-cut key on it. The smith wants to know whose door it opens.

DM tip

It's a travel anvil, small even next to a halfling. Set it by the campfire and let one player mend armor there during a long rest.
