Tally from the pantry: three rats, one scroll, no wizard. They dragged the scroll out and they've sat round it every night since, one up on its hind legs like it's reading aloud. Last night the candles lit themselves. The scholar will pay a silver to whoever gets it off them first.

DM tip

The scroll's its own piece. Glue it between the rats, or leave it loose and let the players pick it up as an actual quest item.
